New Year, New Call, New Schedule

For many families, August feels more like a fresh start than January. As we begin back to school with new supplies and a fresh look, so too do we begin a new ministry year in Muncie. The CCT has discerned this year's ministry will be rooted in Isaiah 12:4 as our watchword:
Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.
As you may remember from our Youth Families meeting back in the Spring, God has been throwing open doors for FBCM to share God's love with teenagers in our community. We will have a completely new schedule for fellowship and strategy for discipleship as we strive to PRAISE and PROCLAIM God's good name in our church, our community, our state, and our world.

Because this is a new and combined ministry effort, we ask that all of our families remain flexible as we try new things and make adjustments until we find what works best for everyone involved. In August. it will mostly be current FBCM students while we meet/invite new students from the YMCA and MCHS. We are praying for slow growth with a core group of student leaders throughout this semester. In the Spring, we hope to have a bigger launch event as the full, student-led Club Night gets going.

Learn Youth - Sun. AM Bible Study Series

One thing that is unchanging this year is Youth Bible Study Sunday mornings at 9:30AM. Last year, students listened to the whole story of God's love and reconciliation in the Bible. This year, we are building on that experience to learn what these stories teach as the basics of the Christian faith. Each month will focus on a big question that teens (and adults!) have about Christianity, and each week will look at how the Bible answers that question.

YFC Club Night - Wednesdays @ 7:17PM

Replacing Sunday Evening topic study, FBCM is joining sister churches and Youth for Christ to host a weekly, ecumenical, student-led youth group night throughout the school year. "Club Night" will be Wednesdays @ 7:17PM this Fall, beginning on Wednesday, August 13. We will begin with a free dinner in the fellowship hall, then move for games, a devotion, and breakout groups. Pick-up will be at 8:45PM

More to Come...

Vision Lunch will be on Sunday, September 7. We strongly encourage all youth and their families to be there. You will hear more details like:
  • how Jonathan and Kendall are already starting to connect with students at MCHS
  • YFC Bible Study @ YMCA Tuesdays @ 6PM (after Labor Day)
  • Upcoming Region Worship, Youth Fuse Events, and Fusion Weekend
  • how this new partnership with Youth for Christ even works and how you can get involved in this exciting, holistic opportunity to love our neighbors!

Tip of the Month.png
Kids naturally want to explore the world around them through play, imagination, and discovery. So why do some of them disconnect this sense of wonder in certain settings? Where does this natural curiosity go? Inquiry Mindset is written specifically for educators, but you'll find the concepts of empowering learners, increasing engagement, and accelerating achievement apply to so many areas of a teenager's life.
